A NEW WAVE OF TERRORISM, KWARANS BEWARE
-
SERIES 4
(Released:13th August 2004)
There is no gain saying the fact that the Waziri of Ilorin, Dr. (Abubakar) Olusola Saraki is sinking. Any sinking man deploys any armament available and waste/sacrifice
anything/person that stands his way to safety. For the Turaki of Ilorin, there's no other means to safety than those he hitherto used to deceive, conquer and milk Kwarans (by proxy) for the period he held (and still holding?) sway in Kwara. The means were among others; poverty, ignorance and terrorism. Though some Nigerian politicians might take political terrorism as an ingredient of politics, it is alien to Kwara democratic culture. It was injected into our political life in the second republic; thanks to Dr. Saraki. 'Oloye'
is averse to real or imagined opposition and dreadful of
levelled ground competition. Whenever the weapon of the
duo of poverty and ignorance failed to produce the
desire results, political terrorism is unhesitatingly
deployed against opponent/s. The three decades of
milking of Kwara state by proxy

does not satisfy him, he decides to do the milking himself. His son in government house failed (or failing) to save the ruling family the impeding ignominy, thanks to dashed hope of the gullible masses who thrilled swim in naira, with a Saraki in government house coupled with the fast crumbling of financial and political empires of the ruling family. The resort to propaganda of marathon 'probing' of the last administration is to perpetuate ignorance, the sack of workers, depriving the beneficiaries of poverty alleviation loan scheme of the last administration of their benefits, coupled with his refusal to implement welfare programme is to sustain poverty. While the level of poverty is rising in the state, its sister ignorance seems to be fizzling out gradually and opposition camps swelling. This last weapon, political terrorism (as has been the custom) is at play and more is in the offing. Recently, Governor Saraki re-introduces monthly sanitation exercise. The first edition took place on 26 June 2004, and the exercise serves as cover to re-introduce usual political terrorism. Expectedly, the first victims of Waziri terrorism were the relatives of the former governor, Muhammad Lawal. In a commando-like brigade operation,
led by the 'chief executive thug' in the government house, Alh. Gani cook Olododo with a squad of fully armed mobile police officers attached to the government house, Ilorin. Alh. Gani Olododo unleashed terror on the people of IDI-APE, violating their privacy, not sparing the aged women (including a woman in purdah 'ELEHA') and the young. At least, eight (8) people were left with battered eyes, broken leg, smashed head and hand with a woman being shot in the eyes. Four were remanded for more than a week at Okekura prison after unjustly fine of N1000 each by a mobile court (court bail were disregarded). This was followed with mass arrest of youth in different areas of metropolis with flimsy excuses. Twenty-one (21) youths were arrested at ITA-OGUNBO area of Ilorin while watching the just concluded Euro 2004 soccer competition.

Alh. Oba Wankasi a popular Muhammed Lawal loyalist was the victim of the second edition of monthly sanitation (terrorism?) exercise. His son was arrested, fined and remanded without offence on 31st of July 2004. |
What a State terrorism! It should be noted that an executive order banning commercial bus operators and motorcyclists [OKADA] from plying Admiralty Drive where many Moslem faithful observe their weekly Juma't services at the Rukayat Islamic Foundation Jumat mosque. This executive decree cover carry any passengers to any gathering (Religion, Social or Political) of supporter of Alh. Muhammad Lawal.
Any commercial bus owner or driver that violates this order will be banished from motor park(s).
In the first week of July, in a meeting of zonal heads of the transport union, the executive decree was formerly announced to members. N5000 was given to each zonal head to be distributed to member to assuage their feelings, courtesy of the government.
It will be recalled that the last but triumphal entry of the former governor into town made the government tremble. A number of motorcyclists were arrested and have just been released with warning not to dare partake in welcoming the former governor any other time.
Redemption Forum is informing Kwarans with authority that there is a subterfuge arrangements by Saraki Government to sabotage the next coming into town of Lawal and (if possible) to frustrate any subsequent attempts. Saraki terror squads have

town, cause confusion and terrorize innocents. Saraki intends to paint Lawal in ugly colour as they did his government. General Abdul-Karim Adisa is presently experiencing campaign of calumny and state terrorism of the Saraki dynasty. General Abdullah Muhammad (Adangba) was (and still is) a target of psychosocial terrorism of the Sarakis. Muhammad Sha'aba Lafiaji would receive his portion of the bitter pills soonest. In the second week of July, Governor Saraki instructed principal officers of his government to compile a list of perceived sympathizers of former governors, Muhammad Sha'aba Lafiaji and Muhammad Lawal in both state and local government

service to be retrenched; another phase of political terrorism. In the second republic when Adamu Attah refused to be cowed down, Saraki brought to play political terrorism tagged 'SAA LA'AKE' (cut them with axe), notable among the victims of 'SHA LA'AKE' was the late
JAGUU of Isale-koto,
Ilorin, who was axed to death by Dr. Saraki's
loyalists (thugs) at Baboko in 1983. The late
Emir Zulu-Gambari was also a victim of Saraki's
terror when he was turned object of ridicule by
his subjects at Saraki's instance.
He drained Sha'aba Lafiaji to become governor,
used him to milk Kwara, and still instigated a
court action against him when he refused to
support a sell-out at Abacha's constituent
assembly. Now, he instructs his son to sack any
of his sympatizers in the state service.
