Zimbabwean Farmers Arrive Kwara Sept

Leaders
of Zimbabwe Commercial Farmers Union (ZCFU), Mr. Allan Jack, has disclosed that
his team would arrive Kwara State in September.
Jack in an audience before the state Acting Governor, Joel Afolabi Ogundeji,
assured that the envisaged white farming would start in earnest.
The Zimbabweans, who just returned from the farming site, expressed satisfaction
on the facilities on the ground.
He commended the state government for giving them the opportunity to invest in
the state and exuded the hope that the investment would turn around the economic
fortune of the state.
Responding, Ogundeji told Jack that government was eager and fully prepared to
receive them in the state.
He stated that the hospitality received by the foreign farmers from Kwarans was
a testimony of the willingness of the people to absorb them.
The acting governor hoped that the people of the state would gain from the
technological experience of the white farmers.
He pointed out the coming of the Zimbabwean farmers to inspect their project
site at Ogudu-Tsonga in Edu Local Government area as a demonstration of their
readiness to invest in the state.
Ogundeji urged them not to delay the project as the people of the state are
anxious to gain from their agricultural experience.
He assured then of necessary support and assistance that would ensure the
success of the project. |
